This photo was taken during one of the most difficult times of my life - nearly homeless, in an abusive relationship, broken down and about to give up. I had to get out of our Brooklyn apartment and had gone out for a walk, when just around the corner was a church. Despite the stormy skies, she was still there to offer solace, peace and hope. Not too long after that I left my partner and started the next chapter of my life for myself.
